Organ-Level Hyperspectral Signatures

We collect  fruits, flowers, and leaves of canopy trees and lianas on Barro Colorado Island (BCI) to meassure their spectral reflectance at high spectral resolution in the laboratory using an ASD FieldSpec Pro4 spectrometer. We create five subsamples for replicate measurements. For each subsample, we take spectral reflectance readings from different using two measurement methods: contact (probe pressing against the sample) and near-contact (probe positioned 1 cm away from the subsample).
